Updated at 12:54 p.m.: Revised to include additional information from police.
A Dallas police officer was arrested over the weekend after an accusation of domestic violence.
Juan Lopez Jr., 37, was booked into the Arlington jail Sunday on one count of family-violence assault. He was later released on bond, and it was unclear whether he had an attorney.
Police were called about 9 p.m. Sunday to a home in the 2000 block of Alamo Drive, where a domestic incident had been reported. Officers took Lopez into custody after speaking to people at the home, police said.
Lopez, who is assigned to the South Central patrol division, has been with the department since 2015. He was placed on administrative leave while police conduct an internal investigation.
No other details were immediately available.
