She’s been living life to the fullest since partnering up with rapper Machine Gun Kelly last year.
And Megan Fox revealed Monday night on Jimmy Kimmel Live that her quest for new experiences included an ayahuasca trip in Costa Rica with her boyfriend that sent her to the depths of ‘hell.’
Despite how horrifying her drug trip sounded, the 35-year-old Jennifer’s Body star told guest host Arsenio Hall that it was actually therapeutic.
Taking a trip: Megan Fox, 35, admitted to guest host Arsenio Hall on Monday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live that she had a hellacious yet therapeutic ayahuasca trip with boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly
‘So we went to Costa Rico to do ayahuasca in an indigenous setting,’ she shared, adding that it wasn’t the glamorous ‘five-star’ experience she had been expecting.
‘You don’t get to eat after, like, 1:00 p.m.,’ she shared. ‘You have to walk a long distance. You can’t shower because they’re in a drought. You have to respect the rainforest. Nothing glamorous about it.’
She explained that the ceremonies began with ‘vomitivo,’ in which attendees drank a plant-based concoction that made them vomit.
Has its downsides: The Costa Rican trip wasn’t glamorous, as they could barely shower and couldn’t eat in the evenings, and they had to induce vomiting before their drug trips
Mandatory: ‘So you have to vomit? There’s no way out of that?’ Arsenio asked. ‘You can’t get out of it,’ she replied, but she found it helped prepare them
Celebrities who have tried ayahuasca…
Sting: ‘[I felt] something coursing through every cell in my body — like an intelligence searching everything. And I am wired to the entire cosmos! I see a crack in the ground and inside I see a flower growing … it’s my brother – everything! And I realise for the first time this is the only genuine, religious experience I’ve ever had!’
Lindsay Lohan: ‘I did ayahuasca, it changed my life … [I let go of the] wreckage of my past.’
Chelsea Handler: ‘I had all these beautiful imageries of my childhood and me and my sister laughing on a kayak, and all these beautiful things with me and my sister. So [my experience] was very much about opening my mind to loving my sister, and not being so hard on her.’
James Scott: ‘I hallucinated for four to six hours … It was truly the most important thing I have ever done. I came back a very different person.’
‘So you have to vomit? There’s no way out of that?’ Arsenio asked.
‘You can’t get out of it,’ she replied to the audience’s laughter. ‘And you have to vomit a certain amount before they let you get back with everyone. So you’re like cheering on everyone as they throw up,’ she joked, adding that it was a good ‘bonding experience.’
Megan said that the two took ayahuasca on three different nights, with a different ‘trip’ each time.
‘Everybody’s journey is different,’ she explained. ‘The second night I went to hell for eternity. And just knowing eternity is like torture in itself because there’s no beginning, middle or end. So you have like a real ego death.’
But the Transformers star said the terrors of her mental hell were like a particularly potent kind of therapy.
‘This is a medicine that goes — it surpasses anything you could do with talk therapy or hypnotherapy, any of those things,’ she continued.
‘It just goes straight into your soul and takes you into your psychological prison you hold yourself in. It’s your own version of hell. And I was definitely there.’
The ayahuasca trip seems to have been a longtime goal for Megan, who shared with Us Weekly in 2019 that she wanted to try out the experience with her then-husband Brian Austin Green.
‘I’m really into Shamanism, so I’m learning a lot about that.
‘I’ve read maybe 12 or 14 books on it now, so I’m getting into that and I’m nearing closer,’ she explained.
‘I’m not someone who does hallucinogenics, but I’m nearing closer [to] wanting to go on an Ayahuasca journey to meet myself, transcend, have the little death, come out the other side.
Trippy: ‘Everybody’s journey is different,’ she explained. ‘The second night I went to hell for eternity. And just knowing eternity is like torture in itself because there’s no beginning, middle or end. So you have like a real ego death’
To hell and back: She said the drug ‘surpasses anything you could do with talk therapy or hypnotherapy’ and it ‘goes straight into your soul and takes you into your psychological prison’
Unfortunately, Brian wasn’t on board for a trip himself, or even to watch her do it.
Elsewhere in her appearance, Megan claimed that her boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly (given name: Colson Baker) had never had a serious relationship prior to coupling up with her.
‘He’s going to love how much I’m divulging all of his secrets,’ she joked, before adding, ‘but he’s never been in a relationship before.’

Long story: While she was filming her movie Till Death in Bulgaria, he wanted to visit her, but he lost his passport because he put it in his sock while riding a motorcycle on the freeway because his pants were too tight
VOMITING THEN A TEN HOUR TRIP
Ayahuasca, or yage, contains Dimethyltryptamine, known as DMT.
Used in South America, especially in the Amazon basin, Ayahuasca is a drink produced from the stem bark of the vines Banisteriopsis caapi and B. inebrians.
It is said to have healing properties and bring inner peace by purging toxins and can produce reactions including vomiting.
Psychedelic experiences last six to 10 hours and are guided by experienced shamans in the South American countries where ayahuasca is legal to consume.
Because her commitment to the rapper-turned-rocker was new, he got anxious when she went away to Bulgaria to film her new thriller Till Death and decided to come visit her on set.
‘So he was really fearful of if I go away for six weeks, am I still going to come back and we’re going to be okay,’ she explained. ‘He had lost his passport riding a motorcycle on the freeway because he wears these insane pants and he just puts them in — he’ll put his passport like in his sock, and so it will fall out obviously. That’s a stupid thing. Don’t ever do that,’ she said to the audience.
‘And he lost the passport, and this was during Covid. So he couldn’t just get a new passport. So he had to go through all of these hoops,’ she continued. ‘He went through Bernie Sanders finally to get a passport and he came to see me. But it was a lot of drama.’
By the time he had his passport, they only had three days together before she was finished with the film and had to go back home.

‘I have UFC fight pass and I know all the fighters and their back stories and I’ve been into it for a few years,’ she confessed. ‘[Machine Gun Kelly] likes it, but I’m definitely the one that’s more obsessed with it.’

Megan and her ex, Brian Austin Green, are reportedly in a ‘peaceful place’ with their co-parenting relationship for their three children: Noah, eight, Bodhi, seven, and Journey, four.
A source told E! News: ‘Things have calmed down and are going a lot smoother. Brian has accepted it’s over for good with Megan and has moved on. It’s allowed for a much more peaceful co-parenting relationship.’
Both Brian, 47, and Megan have moved on to new relationships, with Megan dating MGK for more than one year, while Brian is loved up with Dancing With the Stars pro Sharna Burgess, 36.

Megan and MGK’s whirlwind relationship began last year while filming Randall Emmett’s crime thriller, Midnight In The Switchgrass, with Bruce Willis, Emile Hirsch and Lukas Haas in Puerto Rico.
During an interview on Lala Kent’s podcast, Megan said she ‘knew right away that he was what I call a twin flame.’
She added: ‘Instead of a soul mate, a twin flame is actually where a soul has ascended into a high enough level that it can be split into two different bodies at the same time. So we’re actually two halves of the same soul, I think.’
They made their red carpet debut at the American Music Awards where she revealed a new tattoo likely dedicated to her musician beau with the Spanish words ‘el pistolero’ scrawled across her collarbone, which roughly translates to ‘the gunman.’
Kelly — who’s real name is Colson Baker — revealed that he wears a vial of her blood on a necklace so that he wouldn’t miss her when she went out of the country for a film role.
‘This was really new in our relationship. I didn’t have a passport either. So, she was going out to Bulgaria so I was kind of freaking out, like, “You’re gonna leave and I can’t even come see you,”‘ he recalled. ‘Some people give, like, a handkerchief to their partner or whatever. She gave me her DNA.’
